Hair Care Tips for the Coming Winter

Hair care is not just a luxury, it is a necessity. In the winter season, when the temperature drops, hair becomes dry and brittle. It is important to take care of your hair throughout the year but it becomes even more important in winter. Here are some hair care tips for the coming winter season:

Before you go out in cold weather, apply a heat protecting spray on your hair and then wear a hat or scarf on your head to protect it from getting damaged by sun rays.

Use a deep conditioner at least once every week to keep your hair healthy and soft.

Try using an oil based shampoo instead of a regular shampoo as it moisturizes dry and damaged hair. You can even mix coconut oil with water and massage it into your scalp before washing your hair with a shampoo or conditioner.

Eat foods rich in vitamin E like nuts, eggs, spinach etc. to make your hair strong and healthy.

Add moisture to your hair. Winter weather can be very drying for both skin and hair, so it's important to use products that contain ingredients that prevent damage caused by moisture loss, such as oils or emollients.

Use a hydrating mask once a week or every other week. Hydrating masks are great for bringing back moisture into dry strands when they've been exposed to harsh elements such as cold wind or central heating. You can use them as often as you like, but if you're using heat tools on your hair frequently then you should use them less frequently or not at all because heat appliances can cause further damage to your strands if they're already dehydrated.

Here is a myth about winter hair care: A lot of people think that blow drying your hair is not ideal. But it’s simply not true. Blow drying when done right, can help style and rejuvenate your hair! Here at Bella Blowdry Bar, we are trained to do just that: Giving you the best look while maintaining the youth and hydration in your hair!

Here is what our customer Toni has to say about her experience with us:

“We had a wedding party go to Bella Blow Dry for a wedding this past weekend. Not only was the staff incredibly nice, but they did an amazing job. A few of us girls were so scared to have our makeup done…. But their artist did a PHENOMENAL job. The owner was incredibly patient while the bride figured out what she wanted and worked with her perfectly. The wedding was during that fire, it was muggy and ash fell all day. Our makeup didn’t even smudge. The hair was beautiful as well! Would 100% recommend.”
